Game of Thrones Bandwagon!

Okay, I have to talk about this! This freaking show blows my mind! It is so in-depth, unpredictable and so epic! Crazy things happen, your favorite characters die all the time, and there is a hint of magic thrown in there. You can call me a nerd if you want but this show is like the biggest thing in pop culture right now and I am so here for it! Game of Thrones baby!

A Beautiful Cover of the Theme Song

So to give a little back story about how I got started with Game of Thrones. It was back during the summer I lived in Charlotte with my aunt and uncle and they were already huge fans of the show. I wasn’t a big tv show watcher at the time. I usually just watched movies. But they finally convinced me to watch the first episode, and honestly, so many things happened it was hard to keep up.

I gave up after like 3 episodes because I just didn’t have time to soak it all in. Well while Josh and I were dating we jumped into it! It was so helpful to watch it with someone in case you miss something! Fast forward to today and I am WAY into it. We have waited so long for this new and final season and it’s gonna be epic!

The Final Season

I’m a little late talking about it but so far we have seen two of the six episodes in this last season. (Although there are rumors about possible bonus episodes! Eeek!) I’m really going to try and not put any spoilers in here for those of you who haven’t drunk the Kool-Aid yet. (But you totally should!) I can’t wait to see who dies, who lives, and who ends up sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of all this!

I have some recommendations for my fellow Throners and for anyone who wants to jump on the bandwagon!

  1. After each season, watch all the YouTube recaps and previously on segments you can find before starting the next season. It will be so helpful to get a refresher on who is even still alive.
  2. Don’t get too attached to any characters! There is a very big chance they will be killed off at some point.
  3. Definitely listen to a podcast or read a blog about each episode. It will help you break it down and better develop your theories!

I will say this if you are under the impression that this is just another magic filled show you are mistaken! It is way more centered around politics and relationships! The storyline is what sucks you in, all the other stuff just makes things even more complicated! Which is VERY entertaining!

Some of my Favorite Game of Thrones Things

  • The Game of Stools podcast. Now, this is not for anyone who is sensitive to bad language but it is hilarious and they are brutally honest when they break down each episode!
  • There are so many incredible one-liners in this show! For example: “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.” -Cersei and “Hold the Door.” – Hodor (You’ll understand the significance of this if you watch the show!)
  • There are a billion different theories about how this show could end! The first couple seasons were based on a book series written by George R. R. Martin but with this last season, the writers are going off script because there are no more books.

Well, you can probably guess that I highly recommend this show! Yes, it can be very far from PG but the beautiful storylines, the incredible cast, and unpredictability of the show are so much bigger than all the bad words, nudity and murders! Just saying. If you wanna give it a shot, here is the link to HBO!

I’d love to know if you are already a throner, who is your favorite character? And if you don’t watch the show, I respect that!
