Baby Boy is Here! Welcome to the family, Liam!

I am so excited to announce the birth of our baby boy! William Andrew arrived on October 28, 2022 at 8:01 AM via C-Section. He weighed 9lbs 15oz and was 21 1/4in long! He is the sweetest and most chill baby ever! I am absolutely smitten! I am excited to share his birth story with you today! We have been showered with meals, care and gifts from all of our family and friends!

I haven’t been quiet about how nervous I was to have another c section after the traumatic experience I had with Brinley. But the days leading up to our appointment I truly felt a peace from the Lord about the whole situation. The only thing that mattered was the safe delivery of our precious miracle.

Here We Go!

So we headed into the hospital at 5:30 AM to get things started. We waited for a bit until they were ready for us and then went back. I had to do several things right off the bat. I was told to use a few wipes and wipe down my whole body, swap my nose, do a mouth wash and change into a gown and socks. After that they put my IV in and went over my medical history and asked me a zillion questions. Next the anesthesiologist came in and went over the spinal tap and what I could expect on her side of things. Talking to her really put my nerves at ease. She was the kindest soul and answered all my questions. I truly felt safe in her hands.

Once the doctor got there and scrubbed we headed to the OR. I was able to play my own playlist on the speaker so I had worship music to ease my nerves even more. The spinal tap was a breeze and by the time Josh came in, they were ready to get started! After what felt like only a few minutes, we heard our baby boy’s first cry! He actually peed as soon as they held him up. Lol! I love that I remember his birth in so much detail! I did not have that luxury with Brinley.

Pure Bliss

Once we got to recovery, he latched beautifully! And Josh got to have the special moment of going out to the waiting room and announcing that we had a boy to our family! We were in recovery for about two hours. I really couldn’t tell you all that went on in recovery because I was mostly focused on nursing and soaking in every second with my baby boy! Once we were all set to move to the postpartum floor they wheeled me out to the elevator. The best part was that we went right past the waiting room where all our family could sneak a peak at Liam for the first time!

The rest of our stay was a breeze! Liam was so good! He ate so well, slept so well and past all his tests with flying colors! My healing was under way and it felt like a walk in the park this time! It’s amazing what prior experience can do!

Here are a few things that I used the entire time we were in the hospital! I packed much lighter this time and knew what I would actually use.

It is still crazy to think that I am a mama of 2 sweet babies now! When I have them both in my arms or on my lap, I can’t help but praise God that he chose me to be their mama! I can’t wait to find out who Liam will be and to watch Brinley and him grow up so close in age!
