5 Tips for People Who Hate to Workout

Alright, so I realize that not all of you are like me and are slightly obsessed with getting my daily workout in. So this post is for you! I am going to share 5 things that might help you get into daily exercise and not hate it.

1

Find a pre-workout you love. There are SO many different products out there that are designed to get you pumped and ready for your sweat session. I personally prefer this all-natural product because it doesn’t give you that jittery feeling. Some people dig that feeling, it’s just not for me.

2

Start with the type of exercise that you enjoy the most. No one said you had to do all the exercise types that you hate. I personally hate indoor cycling. It’s just not my jam and so I am not going to force myself to do it when there are several different types of movement that I enjoy more. If you hate to run, don’t do it. Try weight lifting or pilates instead.

3

Pick the environment that will best serve you. If you think you’ll thrive in a class setting, sign up for some classes. If you think you’ll do better with a one on one situation, look into getting a personal trainer. There are several more options as well, at-home workouts, rocking it out on the gym floor, joining a dance studio, etc. Find your jam.

4

Decide on a schedule. If you don’t pick the most reasonable time for you to fit in your workout, you won’t do it. You have to decide on what part of the day would be best for you to get your workout in. I personally can not get up any earlier than I have to in the morning. So, morning workouts are not going to work for me. You might prefer to workout at 8 pm, do you boo!! I do best when I get my workout in right after I get home from work.

Make your workout time a priority. I know that we are all very busy. Our days are full of things that require our attention. But your health should be on that list. You need to make yourself a priority and working out is part of that. Whether it is walking during your lunch break or parking in the back of the parking lot every day to get more steps in, there are many ways to get exercise into your day!

Another way to stay motivated is to track your progress! Here I have laid out why you should take measurements to track progress and have even given you a free printable tracker!

    1. What a great idea…to do your workout at whatever time works for you. You’re right, getting up early isn’t for everyone (certainly not me) so after work workouts would be something I could stick to more easily.

  1. Thanks for this kick in b***. I really needed it. Staying regular with my morning exercise routine is such a challenge for me. I need to work on this thanks for reminding.

  2. Haha I am definitely someone who doesn’t love working out and can say the gym is not my environment! Thanks for the tips.
