What’s in my beach bag?

beach bag

This week we are at the Outer Banks and soaking up all the sun! I have been so consistent this last month with posts that I just couldn’t bring myself to skip this week! I found myself looking up all the beach bag recs so I figured I would share what I ended up bringing! Now keep in mind, that I am packing for myself and B so there will be little girls’ items mixed in! On a side note, you have to get one of these beach bag holders! Reduces the amount of sand that gets in and helps you keep track of it! We got these for our trip last year and loved them! Totally worth the $7!

Bags

There are a zillion beach bag options out there! I have tried straw, mesh, totes, etc.! I have found that with a kiddo, the mesh is the way to go right now! Helps keep some of the sand out! I grab this one last year and will be using it again this year. I am going for functional these days, friends! One day, I’ll get one of these and use it for sports, the beach, and more!

Beach Bag Essentials

1/ Towels – We have beach towels from everywhere but we just recently picked up some from Costco and I love them! So soft and they are a great size! We usually buy new beach towels from Target because of all their fun prints! But we will have several towels each day!

2/ Sunnies – You already know I will have a few pairs of Knockarounds with me! This is my current favorite but I am bringing these totally badass aviators too! The quality and price of this brand keep us coming back every time! Huge fans! Brinley will also have a few pairs but we grab her off Amazon! These and these!

3/ Sunscreen – Obviously! We will have several kinds and bottles in the beach bag at all times! Lotion for the first application and spray for reapplication! A face stick and chapstick for those lippies. Brinley has her own bottles. We love this brand but we also have been using this brand at home all summer.

4/ Cover Ups – This pregnant mama doesn’t want to deal with burns in weird places so on top of sunscreen you’ll find me wearing cover-ups here and there. Plus around day 4, everyone gets a bit tired of the sun towards the end of the day. Here is one I will be throwing in my beach bag.

5/ Scrunchies – I am not a hair down at the beach kinda girl. It gets hot, y’all! I only get my hair ties and accessories from ShopAndi! I love their stuff so much!

6/ BOOKS – I have shared all my summer book plans in this post a few weeks ago! I have a few of these in my bag but also a few on my Kindle! I am set!

7/ All the supplies for cold drinks – We will have our Brumates, Rtic Tumblers, and Yetis! All different sizes haha! We will have our Rtic coolers with us as well!

8/ Water Shoes – Little kids don’t always like the sand and shells so I picked up a pair of water shoes for B!

9/ Diapers and Wipes – I will have plenty of swim diapers and regular diapers in the beach bag! As well as enough wipes and bum cream! That sand likes to irritate little baby skin!

10/ Portable Fan – I am going to throw this handy fan in the bag as well for if B takes naps or gets too hot on the beach!

11/ Everything Else – I will have a beach blanket for diaper changes, naps, relaxing, etc. Can’t forget the toys! Last year B wasn’t really big enough for beach toys but this year we will be making all the sand castles! SNACKS! You can never have too many snacks at the beach but especially when you have a toddler!
