Our Fall Home Project List of 2022 That May Or May Not Get Done

fall home project list

Now that we are settled and the new baby will be here in a couple of months, it is time to get all the projects planned and executed! I am sure that I will come up with more ideas but here is my current Fall home project list! I am curious, what has been your favorite home improvement project you have done on your house?

1. Nursery

So obviously, this one HAS to get done. And I’m the most excited about it! Nurseries are fun because the whole room gets a makeover! Luckily, when we moved in this room had just had a fresh coat of paint that we love so we get to skip that step! I’m also so excited because all our bedrooms have really nice carpet so I don’t have to do a full rug in here as I did for B’s nursery. I want to get more of a cute accent rug! We are going to actually use the curtains that my mom made for B’s nursery here because both of the kids’ rooms only have one window so it’s perfect! I am doing a wall decal again for the accent wall and I can’t wait! It’s gonna be so cute! Stay tuned! Theme-wise, I’m going for a “colorful learning” vibe! I will be using a lot of the pieces from B’s nursery because they also were gender neutral and because she has gotten a lot of new pieces for her new room. Really the only new things we need to buy are a Ubbi diaper pail, and a Hatch sound machine and we already got a dual monitor so we will only have one monitor to keep track of! Everything else is still in really good shape from B!

2. Replace Storm Door

This project can be checked off the list but I still had to share it! For some reason, there was a ton of damage to the back storm door leading to our deck at our new house. The door was like falling apart. Not sure what happened but it had to go! Luckily, the hubs got right to work and actually replaced it with some help from his dad! It looks 1000% times better! The window is lower so B can see out and it actually closes on its own! Woohoo! It’s the small things, folks! I completely forgot to take before and after photos of this one but here is the link to the storm door Josh installed! This was such an easy one to mark off the fall home project list!

3. Redo bathroom cabinets

This is one of those that might not happen yet but it most certainly needs to. The cabinets in the whole house are old. But the ones in the master bath are the worst of them all! These have got to be updated! It’s such an eye sore and just brings the whole vibe of the bathroom down, big time! We have a friend who does AMAZING work that I personally want to do the job! It’s just a matter of scheduling it and doing it in the most cost-effective way. So let me know all your tips in the comments for this one!

4. Landscaping

We have begun on this task! Some baby steps have occurred haha. So far we have planted a few things and had a company come out and rip out a bunch of dead bushes. There was a lot of clean-up to do because the house sat empty for quite a while. So I wanted to have some professionals come to do a facelift to get us to a good starting point! It already looks so much better! Now I just have to decide what to plant in the holes!! Ideas?? Let me know!

5. Cutting Board Storage

Okay, I saw this idea on Instagram I think and I love it! We have a ton of drawers and cabinets in our kitchen but I love a good hack, ya know? I use cutting boards almost every day to make dinner or cut up snacks for Brinley so this would be so helpful! It is so easy and I think would make life just grand! If you have any other hacks like this for storage let me know! Speaking of the kitchen, here are my fav salads recently!

6. Back Deck Facelift

I have some big dreams for our back deck! Obviously, we will not be accomplishing it all this fall but I wanted to share some inspo regardless! I do think we will at least add some string lights and maybe a rug! I would love to screen in our back deck at some point! We HATE mosquitos and Josh tends to always be eaten alive! It is because he is so sweet! 🙂
