Happy 1st Birthday Essentially Sydney

Happy Birthday!

Exactly one year ago this little blog was born! I took a big ol step into vulnerability, rawness, and truth when I pressed that publish button last year. I had no idea that it would be what it is today! I’ve made so many connections and friends through this process! I have learned a ton and found a passion that I didn’t realize I had! I’m not a very “creative person” in the sense of art but when it comes to creating content for y’all, I can’t stop! I love to be silly and fun with these posts while also being real and honest every step of the way. Needless to say, I am celebrating this blogs’ birthday and all the joy it has brought me over the last year! Now, where is the birthday cake? With all that being said, here is a little update on my life right!

New Do

First of all, I cut my hair off! And I freaking love it! I feel like a whole new woman! I do this every once in a while. I’ll let my hair grow long and then chop it off. I have such thin, fine hair that it just doesn’t do very well after a certain length! Totally rocking the lob now!! Happy Blog Birthday to me! Lol

Book Goal Update

I have finished my first 3 books of the year!! The first was Pride & Prejudice! I have read this before but I wanted to read it again to freshen up! It was also the first book I chose for my seniors’ book club! Next was Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid! I HIGHLY recommend this book! Such a great read and definitely gets you thinking about some things! The third book was Haben! It is about a deafblind woman who does amazing things with her life! She even goes to Harvard! I enjoyed all three and have already started on 2 more!

Tried Something New

So for the book club that I started for my seniors, as I said above, we read Pride & Prejudice. Well, I totally went all in and even baked Hot Cross Buns for them! It was my very first time trying to make them and they were so yummy! I might have eaten like 3 of them that day! No shame!

IVF

I am not going to talk too much on this because I already put up a whole post on it, which you can find here! Basically we are praying so hard that the transfer will go smoothly and that we will start cooking (haha) our baby in March!

Coming soon!!!

I am in the works of bringing a little Essentially Sydney Shop to the blog! It will happen sometime this year, I have a lot of stuff coming up (IVF!!) that will be stressful, so I don’t want to add to that stress right now. But I am very excited and have a ton of fun products planned for you guys! So stay on the lookout for that launch!

P.S. If you would be interested in purchasing an Essentially Sydney t-shirt please email me at essentiallysydney@gmail.com! You guys are just the best! Thanks for always supporting me and my crazy ideas!! If you ever want me to write about s certain topic please just comment below or send me a message!! I am an open book, as you already know! Happy Friday friends!
