It can be difficult to know how to be there for your loved ones that are dealing with infertility. It is kind of awkward to ask them how you can help because bringing it up can cause sadness etc. But more than anything you want to know how to be there for them. Well, here is a resource that can help you shop for that person in your life that is going through this difficult season. I have listed several items that can bring comfort and support. I hope this gift guide helps make the situation easier for everyone involved! And assists you in finding the perfect gift.
Gift Guide
- A weighted blanket – Something that I personally crave is the weight of my future child on my chest. Anytime I hold other children in our church nursery I cherish the moments of feeling that weight on my chest and long for my own someday. Something that can bring temporary comfort for this is a weighted blanket. This can be a wonderful gift.
- Gift cards – The infertility process is far from cheap. Gift cards such as pharmacy gift cards, Visa gift cards, fertility massage gift cards, gift cards for fertility yoga classes, mani and pedi gift cards, etc!
- A love donation – Along the same lines of how expensive the infertility process. From doctor’s appointments to all the prescriptions and beyond it all adds up quick and anything can help!
- Books – A few that have really helped me so far are When God Says Wait, The Book of Comforts (both can be found on Amazon). It is incredible the impact a good thoughtful book can make during this season.
- IVF medication bag – There are SO many supplies when going through IVF and it can make it that much more bearable to have a fun bag to stay organized! You can find a ton of Etsy.
- Jewelry – Having something to hold or touch when times get hard can be a huge comfort. Jewelry is a popular item in the infertility world. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc that have special stones or meaningful sayings.
- An IVF Journal or Planner – It can be hard to stay organized during this process. It can also be beneficial to have a place to document your feelings throughout the different stages as well. One I have my eye on for when we get started this month is this one on amazon. The reviews are really good.
- A Heating Pad – I can think of many times during this journey where I might need or want a heating pad. Heat can be soothing in so many times in life too so you know this gift would be used often.
- IVF Milestone Cards – This is a very unique gift. I love the idea behind this though, it can help you focus and celebrate making it to each milestone in the long journey.
- IVF Socks – These are considered to be lucky on days like ‘egg retrieval day’ and ‘transfer day’. But mostly I would imagine they bring more comfort and reassurance than anything else.
Additional Suggestions
If you have any questions about this gift guide or need specific suggestions, feel free to reach out and ask me. I have several friends and family who have been through this. And like to think I would be able to direct you to something that would be very much appreciated. My story is not over but I want to keep it an open conversation so that others going through this and people with loved ones in it can be educated and aware of what it is like. Here is our plan.

These are some really great gift ideas. Having seen many of my close family and friends going through this, I think many of these gift items will be greatly appreciated.
The idea of an IVF medication bag is so smart. Probably something glittery or with a great saying.
