Essential Cosmetic Products for Traveling (Makeup)

Essential Cosmetic products for travel (make up) essentially sydney

As women, we typically have lots and lots of products in our bathrooms that we use sometimes. Am I right? I know that I have a ton of products but only use a couple on a daily basis. Well, I did quite a lot of traveling this summer and quickly found out which things I actually needed to take with me!

There are lots of variables when it comes to what to pack while traveling. Are you flying, driving or taking a train? How much room will you have for your luggage, and what size bag are you taking? Even things like how long will you be gone and where are you traveling to can come into play.

For the sake of this blog, let’s narrow it down to essential cosmetic products that you will be packing in your carry on bag for a flight. Mostly because packing for flights stresses me out the most.

Now I’ll be the first to admit I am not a skincare or makeup guru! I use an assortment that is both high end and drug store products! I do not have completely clear skin and don’t have a consistent skincare routine. But I have tried a lot of products and have found the ones that work for me.

So here are my go-to products when throwing on some makeup on the fly! These are the exact products I took with me to D.C. last week! As you can tell, some of these are well used already! Let’s talk about them!

  • Wet n Wild Water Drop Primer! I received this product in my last complimentary VoxBox from Influester and I fell in love! It makes your makeup go on so smooth! Love it!
  • Sephora Make No Mistake concealer! Especially while traveling, my eyes can get dark circles because of lack of sleep, or poor diet, etc! Can’t leave the house without this concealer! Also, that double-ended brush is what I use to apply my concealer and foundation (when I wear it).
  • Beauty Blender. I use this bad boy to blend in my concealer and foundation better! I also just learned you are supposed to get it wet before using it! fun fact!
  • Eyeliner/Mascara. I am pretty lowkey about these products. I switch these products a lot. I am always trying a new brand of mascara.
  • Eye shadow. I usually go for a more subtle look when wearing eye shadow. I love this palette from Milani but they actually don’t sell it anymore. I got it two years ago for my wedding makeup! But I will most likely get another palette from them when this one is gone! Here is a similar one that is on sale for $8.24
