My favorite thing about fall, hands down, is hot apple cider! I am obsessed! I buy it in jugs, yes plural!! It warms my soul on cool breezy days/evenings! Yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! So, I have decided to share my favorite ways to enjoy a cup! I’m positive you’ll enjoy these as much as I do! I am probably biased but my favorite spiced cider is from Trader Joe’s!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not above a plain old warmed cup of spiced cider. But when it comes to the lovely holiday parties or cold tailgate mornings, there is not much better than recipe #1 in my book! Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Recipe #1
This first recipe is one of my most commonly used ones! Tailgate Spiced Apple Cider Mimosas! So easy and absolutely delicious! Here is what you’ll need!
- Trader Joes Spiced Cider (Or the spiced cider of your choosing) (1/4 cup)
- Champagne (3/4 cup)
- Apples (sliced)
- Cinnamon sugar combo
- Cinnamon sticks (optional)
Combine and enjoy! If you will not be enjoying your mimosas at home simply heat the spiced cider at home and put into a thermos and bring it with you to make the mimosa at the tailgate! Otherwise, you can just enjoy cold! To make the cinnamon sugar stick on the rim of the cup just lightly wet the rim and then apply the combo!
Recipe #2
Next up, a recipe that is sure to warm your soul, warm cider and rum punch! Nothing feels more like the holidays than a good rum punch. Am I right?! It is so easy to make too! Takes a total of 10 minutes!
- 2 cups of dark rum
- 8 cups of Trader Joe’s Spiced Cider
- 1 apple (thinly sliced)
- 1 orange (thinly sliced)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Combine cider, apple slices, orange slices, and cinnamon sticks into a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add the rum and serve it warm! Yummm! Perfect for holiday parties, cold winter nights and Thanksgiving dinner!
I hope that you get a chance to try one of these recipes this season! I promise it will do the trick and warm you to the bones! These drinks are perfect for holiday parties, get-togethers, and Friendsgivings too! I would love to see if you use these recipes, tag me in your holiday photos with @sydney_garrison.
