Real Tree or Fake?
Friends, I am curious. Are you team real tree or team artificial tree? I personally am team real tree, my husband, on the other hand, is all about the artificial trees! He has, however, agreed to have and wholeheartedly participated in the picking of a real tree for the last 2 years. And it has been a fun tradition of going to the lot, finding the shortest, most fat tree and bringing it home with us! Our dogs have enjoyed having an extra water bowl during the holiday season as well! Josh has been all-in on the whole experience, even helping sweep up the pine needles when we finally threw the tree out.
I say all of this because I want you all to know that I will forever be team real tree! And I will always have something real in the house every year, may that be a real wreath or a string of garland! I will have that real pine smell during the holidays. But the day has come where a large rectangle box has been placed on my front porch with an artificial tree inside of it. Yup, you read that right. We will be putting up a fake tree this year. Sad day.
Here is my reason: I don’t want to wait for Josh to be ‘ready to decorate’. I want to be able to do it when I want and as early as I want. So I made a deal with him. We could get an artificial tree but I get to put it up as early as I want. And he agreed. So the deal was made. We hopped on Amazon and found us a 7.5-foot pre-lit tree and it was delivered 2 days later. Now I will admit I was nervous to order an artificial tree on the internet, especially Amazon but Josh wasn’t concerned.
Christmas Decor
This is Essentially Sydney’s first Christmas! How fun right?! This blog was just an idea this time last year. I cannot believe it’s almost been a year! I have some fun things in the works for year 2! But that’s a conversation for another time!
Over the years, I have gathered holiday decor from a lot of different places. Lots of my decor was either handed down to me or gifted to me. I found a lot of my stuff from these stores. I have a lot of Hallmark ornaments because my whole life my great aunt and uncle have given me a new one each year!
