I don’t know if it is the extreme nesting I am experiencing or if it is just me being on the game this year but I am way ahead of myself on holiday shopping this year! I have a plan to attack those Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals hard this year! Between wanting to get it all knocked out early and being so excited for the holidays I made my lists very early on! I wanted to share my strategy for this year with you! Holiday shopping can be very stressful so it is best to get organized and have a game plan!
What’s new this year?
So what did I do differently this year? Amazon lists!!! Anytime I saw something that would make a great gift I saved it to my amazon list so I wouldn’t forget about it! It is so nice because I always lose paper lists. My biggest tools are the amazon lists feature and the notes app on my phone! Once I purchase a gift for someone I check them off my notes app list!
Another tip, don’t forget about homemade gifts! Not only are they the most thoughtful gifts, but they are also (most of the time) less expensive! I talking ideas like a tin of treats or a hot cocoa mix jar! If you are crafty the options are endless!! I LOVE homemade gifts!!
Online to the rescue!
I plan on getting just about everything I can off Amazon this year for a couple of reasons. 1. I am avoiding in-store shopping as much as I can because I am pregnant and I would hate to get sick this close to my due date! 2. It is just so convenient and I am able to track my spending so much better online. I tend to make rash decisions when shopping in-store. I like being able to see everything in my cart and the prices and totals right in front of my before hitting order!
I also will utilize store pickup as well! It is like delivery minus the fee! You just drive up and minutes later you have your order and are on to the next thing in your day! I have used this several times a month this year! It’s like shopping at target minus the extra crap that ends up in your cart by the time you make it to the register! Plus, NO LINES!
Check out my gift guides for this year to help with your holiday shopping!! Here is one I made last year on things to get your friend that is going through infertility!
Do you like to get your shopping done early? Or do you prefer to save it until the last minute? Drop your answer in the comments below!

LOVE my Amazon lists! This year I made a list for the kids to send to the grandparents!
Usually I like to get my shopping done early, this year has been a different story! 🤦🏻‍♀️ #2020
It’s so nice to keep things in one place and they are easily shareable!! Glad I found another Amazon list lover!!
Usually I wait until the last second, but this year I did the same thing and made lists on my phone and made sure go get everything done during Black Friday! Now all I have to do is wait for delivery and wrap and I’m good! Such a relief having them done early!
Amen girlfriend!! So nice to have one less thing to worry about during the holidays!
I am delivery all the way! Mostly Amazon! I do almost ALL my shopping from home. I am not a store shopper. It’s just not me.
Fair enough!!
This is the my first year to shop so much online. My favorite thing to do is make, give, and receive homemade gifts. It reminds me of God’s love and sacrifice for us. The reason for the season. ❤️
It’s a lot less enjoyable to wonder around the crafts stores this year though.
I have fallen in love with online shopping in this period. Amazon is such a savior during all this chaos.
I couldn’t agree more!
It is important to have a plan when doing a lot of shopping or you will spend too much money, not get everything you need, and end up unhappy.
Agreed!!
Amazon lists for the win this year! I can’t imagine doing Christmas lists any other way from now on!
They are a game changer!
We have been intentionally shopping from small and local businesses.
